"It worked so well they decided to form a corporation and sell ink cartridges. That doesn't mean it was easy or that everything when along smooth. There were problems along the way.
"Since Mr Ink Man is located in Charleston, South Carolina on the east coast - an occasional hurricane would cause problems shipping the orders. There was the time four weeks after the first web site went live - They received so many orders that the web site broke and had to be rebuilt from the ground up in 2 weeks."
Emails came pouring in - so many that David would spend sometimes 12 hours a day answering email and John would spend hours standing in line at the post office shipping the orders.
What John and David began in 1999 as an idea has now grown into a business that has currently 12 employees and has sold over $6,000,000 of ink and toner cartridges to over 120,000 people and businesses in all 50 states and in 29 countries of the world.
Currently 65,000 ink and toner cartridges are in stock - a far cry from the first 59 ink cartridges that were in inventory.
